Rethinking this Amtrak thing

This is the train we'll be on today.

I don't know what concerns me more: the fact that the train I'll be on today hit someone yesterday (although the odds of something bad happening on this trip have exponentially decreased), or the fact that we're going to a town where people amble down the train tracks at will.

Oh, how I miss that town for that very reason. Nothing quite like aimlessly stumbling along the railroad tracks towards an oncoming train.

"Cpl. Daniel said he didn't know why Mr. Frame was walking on the tracks."

Well I'm going to venture a wild guess and say that Mr. Frame was bombed out of his gourd on Old Milwaukee.

Take the train. Number one, what's the chances of it happening again so soon? Number two, they had to shut down the highway to medivac this guy outta there and should the same happen, you could be in a nasty car accident because of it. Number three, hitting a few thing and trains wrecking left and right sure doesn't deter the fine residents of India, does it? Why they pack themselves onto their trains! They're certainly not braver than you!

I've spent two nights and three days on Amtrak--from St. Paul to Pasco, WA. You meet some REALLY interesting folks on Amtrak...not quite as interesting as Greyhound. But not far from it, either.

I want to ride on a train! I rode greyhound from Los Angeles to a small town in central WA a couple summers ago..oh the nut jobs on there. As if the bus didn't stink enough, quite a few people got on the bus and smelled like they hadn't showered for a week. Ewww!

Hope you had a nice train ride :-)
