Friday Shuffle - The Shit, Don't You People Know How to Comment Edition
Except for those of you who do, of course. You, I love, for you provide the ego-fondling I so desperately need.
1. I Won't Back Down - Tom Petty
2. Cigarettes & Chocolate Milk - Rufus Wainwright
3. Cold Day in July - Dixie Chicks
4. The Staggering Genius - Superdrag
5. I Remember California - REM
6. Earthquake Weather - Beck
7. Just a Kid - Wilco
8. Trouble on the Line - Loretta Lynn
9. Stormy Weather - The Pixies
10. Smackwater Jack - Carole King
Tracks 5, 6 and 9 make me a little nervous. If something happens this weekend and California falls into the ocean, I'm going to feel responsible.

Love #1.
I have been reading but not commenting, I'll admit. I'm feeling stuck in a funk, and I don't want to spread the negativity. Keep on, keepin' on. I still heart you....my heart is just a little wilted right now. Long story.

Hi, been lurking. Sorry for not commenting sooner. I'm weird that way. Been reading for a pretty long time, found you via Fluid Pudding. I like what you write, you make my laughy. I hope you continue on the book path; I'll be one of the first in line for it, swear. Pinkie-swear if you want. I never know what to say... I feel like I'm commenting in a celebrity's blog, and really, I'm just a peon compared to the other bloggers (like you) out there. I've included a link to my blog, just in case you feel like giving me a thrill and visiting... in any case, have a great day with B. and Clara "my mom is too cool" Jane.

I like petting your ego. It's warm and cuddly and comforting and smells a little like nachos.

I've probably made a comment or two in the early days when you had just started this blog but have been pretty quiet since. I've read your stuff ceaselessly though, it's always a bright surprise to see you've posted something new.
But here's the thing, between You - the indisputable and justly adored star of this circus - and all your witty, funny and spot on friends like Kara and Dixiepeach et all who also have their say frequently - the bar on commenting is pretty darn high! We're in such good company that often I myself just settle for enjoying the reading (not that I would have anything remotely relevant to say anyhoo) and save my chatty traits to people who can't shut me up if they wanted to...
So me not commenting doesn't mean I'm thinking your writing is insignificant - it's me in awe and fresh out of words that could remotely rise to your level.
Oh well, next time you see me commenting in the style of 'YAY!' or other one syllable/ incomprehensible uproar just know I'm really enjoying getting a glimpse of your life and talent and CAN'T WAIT to see it all in printing!

At last, the DIVINE Ms King features in the Friday shuffle!!! Tapestry is literally one of my top five (three?) albums of all time.

I might be the only one to not read your book. When you know the person you shouldn't read the book....kinda like watch a movie you star in.
I however am ready to blame any falling pieces of land on you.
